Analog and digital clocks in Peep box
for ‘Sinnesrausch Alice verdrehte Welt’
OÖ Kulturquartiers, Linz, Austria
-What is time? Which time is ‘the’ time? Is the time passing slow enough or is it getting faster now? What is the time? What time is it?
As concept, the project ‘Mad Watch’ has the inspiration of feeling lost in between passing and non-passing time, in space, in a group and in self. Together by this feeling, finding the other self, re-questioning the description of ‘what is time?’, redefining the existing situations and answers via experimenting with sound elements and performative aspect of ‘time’ itself.
On the way of expressing the concept ‘Alice – twisted world’, the projects correlates on each other with Mad Hat (who has absurd understanding of time), Mr. White Rabbit (who is always late) and the Mad Watch (which is two days late). With the installation, artist is defining the passing and non-passing time in a conceptual way.
Together with the recorded sound installation, the project consist enough amount of analog and digital clocks to fill the peep box; which performs in real time as a sound installation and as well as visual installation at the same time.
The project has been selected to be presented within the frameworks of ‘Sinnesrausch -Alice verdrehte Welt’ and ‘BestOff 2017’.
